Flying Fortress - Iteration #1

Martin Luther King once said of his time, ”Our scientific power has out run our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men”. 

I fear we are entering a perilous new era of artificial intelligence and institutional ignorance with a very unsteady spiritual footing. 

I am mindful of the great possibilities that a re the promise of these powerfu I new tech no log ies and how they may serve to give new shape and purpose to our daily existence as wel I as the very real threats posed to our future. 

My exploration of form is rooted in my passion for design, invention and technology and my observations of mankind’s physical relationship to his own creations from Leonardo Di Vinci to George Lucas. 

This work represents the fusion of the disciplines of architecture, industrial design and fine art. Each piece is as much a realization of an abstract design concept as it is a work of 3-dimensional art. 

Particular finish applications such as weathering and rust recall an ‘earlier time’ in the story of certain pieces -the scars of a past life. Nevertheless, the work has a timeless quality- seeming to exist in the past, the present and the future - simultaneously.
