Hidden Oak

Plein air painting is up close and personal with the subject matter. This painting of an old oak tree is an intimate study, just me, the tree and a soft breeze. This live oak and few more are isolated and hidden from view and can only be seen after a drive around the back of the property where I grew up. The tree is very old and I like to think it has stood witness to the many, varied and complicated human changes over the years.
