My paintings incorporate hard-edge geometric shapes, or “pixels,” with expressive paint application. Inspired by contemporary applications of the photograph and post-modern artists such as those from the Bay Area Figurative Movement, these fresh and poignant paintings address the subjectivity of perceived truths, the psychological impact of exposure to visual stimuli, and the function of painting in a historical context.
