Memory Palace

I appropriate historical art objects and use them as a background upon which to depict contemporary narratives surrounding inequities in race, sex and gender, and issues surrounding environmental reform. Memory Palace is from a larger series of work entitled Daydream During a Plague (2020-22) that I completed during the Covid19 pandemic. It is a commemorative work that was created in memory of the transhistorical traumas performed upon black American women during our nation’s history.
