Red Motorcycle

My work is a response to some kind of light, outdoors or inside, daytime or nighttime. I enjoy painting light on buildings and the people and objects that inhabit them, along with dramatic views of the environment experienced en plein air. I work in oil, acrylic and watercolor; each medium has its own challenges and joys. Mostly done in a naturalistic style, with a focus on the emotions found either in the subject or in the play of light and color. I like making the ordinary extraordinary.
