Digital Collage/Pigment Print on Canvas
My current series of self-portraits appropriate and reconstruct digital-image fragments and other digital ephemera to present a satirical view of the ”human condition.” Often absurd, my digital collages are exaggerated caricatures of human behavior. They reference everyday people, celebrities, social media, contemporary politics, viral content, and current events. Much like the social satire found in Honoré Daumier’s lithographs of 18th-century Parisian society or the biting criticism in political cartoons, the images present the viewer with the failures and successes of culture and society.
